Big Plans For 2008 Younger Players

U6 - New and old coaches will be asked to attend one of our U6 Coaching Clinics slated for May 10th, 17th and 24th. The focus will be on learning fun games which generate more ball touches rather than "booting the ball". Coaches who have not registered should contact Andrew Longmire.

U8 - Those interested in coaching U8's are requested to register for the F Course which will be May 9th and 10th. Julius Ujeh will be our instructor! Julius is one of CYSA's top instructors, leads coaching clinics, and is involved in the Olympic Development Program. If you have not registered please contact Andrew Longmire.

U8 - This year we'll have a U8 Player Development Clinic much like those successful clinics held in the past for entire teams of U10's and U12's. An added bonus will be that Sonoma State Women's Soccer will be running the clinic.

F Course - This course is scheduled for May 9th (6:30 - 9:30 pm) and May 10th (9:00 am - 3:00 pm). The objective of the course is to give you an understanding of your players, provide you a teaching/coaching framework, provide coaching techniques and methods, and a chance to question yourself about what you may already know about teaching soccer! Coaches And Practice for Recreational Soccer

Depending on the age group, coaches will begin contacting players in early July or August to inform them when practice will begin. Some coaches are on vacation during this period, which means the calls might come a bit later.

The league season runs from early September through October. All players must provide their own league-approved uniforms and shin guards. Uniform availability cannot be guaranteed unless purchased at registration. The league does not order uniforms; they are handled through a local retailer.

The Rohnert Park Soccer league is operated by volunteers. Your involvement is welcomed. Registration will be done on a first come, first placed basis within the age groups with priority given to our league residents.

Teams will only be formed where there are sufficient coaches.
